NINE – THE PEACEMAKER

Nine’s are ultimately Peacemakers

General

Nines are easygoing, receptive, reassuring, agreeable and complacent. They are trusting, accepting, and stable. They can also be too willing to go along with others to keep the peace. They want everything to go smoothly and be without conflict. They simplify problems and minimize anything upsetting. Nines are able to bring people together and heal conflicts. The nine is devoted to peace, both internally and externally. They are typically spiritual seekers who have a great yearning for connection to the universe as well as with other people. They generally do not have a strong sense of their own identity. Nines attempt to ignore disturbing aspects of life by tuning out. Belonging and comfort are gained by attending to and merging with others. They often deny their anger and avoid their darker feelings. They do not like pressure or expectations. They will seek outside themselves for comfort and harmony. They are self-forgetting about their own needs and limits and their attention naturally goes to others and the environment around them. At times, nines can feel unimportant and need to blend in as a way of coping. Their attention goes to what or who is around them and away from themselves and their priorities.

Strengths

Nines are optimistic, patient, unpretentious, good-natured, and genuinely nice people. They have a healing and calming influence. They harmonize groups, bring people together, and are wonderful mediators. Nines often understand the conflicting sides of an issue. They are great listeners. They like caring for and being of service to others. Nines are easy to be around.

Difficulties

A nine’s basic fear is loss and separation. Being assertive against others is terrifying to a nine. They often give up their own agenda in favor of the other person’s. They give in to other’s demands and discount their own needs. They say “yes” to things they really don’t want to do. Nines will use philosophies and stock sayings to deflect others. They can also be procrastinators. Nines are often confused about what they really want. The central issue is losing touch with their inner self in favor of adapting to the environment and merging with others. They can be indecisive and stubborn.
