Enneagram Type Twos are primarily concerned with being of assistance to others. Type Twos are empathetic, sincere, and warm-hearted. They are friendly, generous, and self-sacrificing, but can also be sentimental, flattering, and people-pleasing. They are well-meaning and driven to be close to others, but can slip into doing things for others in order to be needed. They typically have problems with possessiveness and with acknowledging their own needs.
Enneagram Type Threes (Achievers), are top performers who exist for the validation of other people. They love the limelight and they will do whatever it takes to obtain success, riches, fame, or anything that will get the recognition of their community. They are the types that are hardworking, competitive, striving for success and they enjoy high performance challenges and incentives.
People of Type Four personality type tend to build their identities around their perception of themselves as being somehow different or unique; they are thus self-consciously individualistic. Type Fours tend to see their difference from others as being both a gift and a curse – a gift, because it sets them apart from those they perceive as being somehow “common,” and a curse, as it so often seems to separate them from the simpler forms of happiness that others so readily seem to enjoy.
People of Type Five personality type essentially fear that they don’t have enough inner strength to face life, so they tend to withdraw, to retreat into the safety and security of the mind where they can mentally prepare for their emergence into the world. Type Fives feel comfortable and at home in the realm of thought.
People of Type Seven personality type are essentially concerned that their lives be an exciting adventure. Type Sevens are future-oriented, restless people who are generally convinced that something better is just around the corner. They are quick thinkers who have a great deal of energy and who make lots of plans. They tend to be extroverted, multi-talented, creative and open minded.
